Below are some common myths about yuku.

Myth #1: Yuku is an upgrade from ezboard
Fact: This actually depends on your point of view and what you are looking for from a message board service. Yuku does have more features than ezboard, but some are full of bugs (e.g., blogs) and therefore don't work. Other features are simply more than many boards actually want or need. Most of the features that have been added were requested by certain ezboard users back on the old ezboard Community Center forum, so they weren't just pulled out of thin air...they actually were requested. But not everyone wants them...not everyone gives a rat's ass about customizable profiles, blogs, multiple signatures, friends, kudos, social bookmarks, etc., so many of these new features are useless to a large number of yuku members. Furthermore, both yuku and ezboard tend to run extremely slowly from time to time...both have a tendency to spontaneously log people out (this hasn't happened nearly as often to me at yuku as it has at ezboard, but IMO it shouldn't be happening at all on a system that's supposed to be an upgrade)...and both are full of bugs. At least ezboard has an excuse for the bugginess -- it's old and broken down. I don't know what yuku's excuse is.

Myth #2: Ezops (ezboard owners) receive notification before their boards are moved to yuku
Fact: This is the way it's supposed to work; ezops get an email, announcing the impending migration from ezboard to yuku, and an announcement is posted on the board to warn notify members of the change. But the many outraged comments from ezops whose boards were forcibly moved to yuku without their knowledge are proof that this system is a failure. Some boards slip through the cracks, and no notification is ever sent. And, unfortunately, email addresses do change, so emails often don't get to their intended recipients. A private message, as well as an email, should be sent to all ezops to notify them that their boards will be moving to yuku.

Myth #3: All ezboard owners knew that their boards would eventually be moved to yuku, whether they wanted to move or not
Fact: Ezops who visited the ezboard help forums on a regular basis would have seen announcements about yuku. However, at the time that forced migrations began, there was no announcement at all that forced migrations were beginning. At that time, all of the information with regard to migrating ezboards to yuku stated that boards could remain at ezboard until at least December 2007; forced migrations began in November 2007. Furthermore, there were/are actually a few ezboards that ran/run relatively smoothly, so their ezops have had no reason to visit the help forums. Those board owners, and board members, are completely blindsided when their boards are migrated to yuku.
